stories of strength through color

Hola!

Thank you for visiting my page. Art has been a part of me since I can remember, and while I love creating, I am particularly passionate about being able to tell a story and evoke a certain emotion through art.

My work focuses on showcasing the natural beauty and strength in women. Working with the natural grains and imperfections of wood, each piece is uniquely complex, representing the many layers that make us all unique. My vision is to evoke a sense of joy and pleasure through my work, similar to the freeing feeling of self-worth. Rather than hiding the imperfections that we’re often ashamed us, I hope to remind the viewer that it is those imperfections that make us unique and beautiful.

I hope you enjoy my work!

ABOUT ME:

I grew up in Monterrey, MΓ©xico, and moved to the US with my two sisters when I was 15 years old. My work reflects the colorful culture that I was surrounded by in my birth country, and a reminder that it is still a big part of me. Moving to a new country as a teenager was not easy, and I quickly learned that being different can be both very challenging and overwhelming.

I leaned on art then and I lean on art now as a way to express what I am going through, and find joy and beauty in any challenging moment.

The authenticity is present. Her artwork is an honest reflection of the environment she grew up in. Ceniceros captures the small details, from the influential women surrounding her to patrons dancing spiritedly to the invisible bandas.
